Delta Days in Sacramento

The 33rd Annual Delta Days in Sacramento took place the last weekend in April.  The event was themed “Sound the Alarm: Being the Catalyst for Change” and included workshops, the Social Action Luncheon with the Rev. Dr. Gwendolyn E. Boyd as our keynote speaker, a town hall meeting with members of the California Legislative Black Caucus and invited gubernatorial candidates, and a legislative day at the State Capitol. NSDCAC Sorors and Youth Initiative members were briefed on legislative issues which impact the African-American community; developed skills on lobbying and monitoring legislation; and networked with members of the Assembly and Senate. NSDCAC, as well as sorors who come from all around the state, had opportunities to observe legislators in session, attend committee sessions, and participate in briefings. IMG_1825.jpgIMG_1792.jpg
