106 years ago, on March 3, 1913, the 22 Founders of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated participated in their first public act by marching in the Women’s Suffrage Parade – setting the tone for our commitment to political awareness and involvement. In 2013, in celebration of our centennial year, we retraced our Founders’ footsteps reaffirming our commitment to social action endeavors. #DST1913
NSDCAC commemorated the month with many festivities.
Black History Month began as “Negro History Week” in 1926. It became a national month-long celebration in 1976 and is also observed in Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, though the particular months vary. Look for Black History Month tidbits throughout February as Delta Sigma Theta celebrates our heritage. #BlackHistoryMonth #DST1913
